This week's Life in Lyrics features the song 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'. First sang by Judy Garland in one of my favourite musicals, The Wizard of Oz, many singers have made their own cover of the song. My favourite cover is by Faith Hill but I couldn't seem to find the video on YouTube so I'll leave you guys with the video of the scene from the 1939 film.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?
Let's just say things don't seem to be going the right way. They're not heading the wrong way either but it's just a lil' too static. Even medicine seems to have lost its appeal (God, this sounds super geeky!!!). I just can't seem to focus my attention on anything I need to do and that really is frustrating because I have exams in around 2 weeks. And the fact that it's colder (I hate winter!!!) now just makes everything ten times worst.
I know there's not much I can do but to just pave on and deal with it but it does get a lil' too overwhelmning at times I just wanna run away! I wanna go somewhere over the rainbow, some place where the skies are blue, some place where troubles melt like lemon drops, some place where dreams do come true.
Or maybe I'll just have to wake up from all the dreaming and start making the dreams true. Gahhhh, life!!!
P.S.: I'm so excited that Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical The Wizard of Oz will open February next year in London. I'm gonna go watch Webber's The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies next month during my Christmas break!!!
